John William White (b. 1910, Uvalde, Tex.-d. Nov. 16, 1992), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1934 and earned his pilot wings the following year. James Ferguson worked for the Associated Press and was a resident of Portland, Oregon. He visited Alaska in 1948 (probably) and in 1950. The latter trip was as part of a press tour.
